Best Time to Visit Mulshi Lake and Dam, Pune

Mulshi Lake and Dam, nestled among the folds of the Sahyadri range on the banks of the Mula River in Pune district, is an ideal getaway for nature lovers and peace seekers. The monsoon season, extending from June to September, presents the best time to visit Mulshi when the surrounding flora is in full bloom and the lake is brimming. During this season, the rain showers embellish the region's natural beauty, making the landscapes lush green and waterfalls active and picturesque. This is a perfect period for photographers and those who appreciate a scenic and serene environment. However, visitors should be cautious as the area can get slippery and water levels might rise unpredictably.

For those interested in outdoor activities like camping, bird watching, or trekking, the post-monsoon months of October to March offer a more comfortable climate with moderate temperatures. The weather during these months is pleasant and the beauty of the lake remains, albeit with a reduced water level. The clear skies ensure a great view of the Sahyadri mountain range and the accessibility to various points around the lake is easier. It is advisable to avoid peak summer months, as the heat can be intense and the natural scenery is not as vibrant compared to the monsoon or post-monsoon seasons.
