Best Time To Visit Mysore (Mysuru) (Karnataka) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Mysore, Karnataka

The ideal time to visit Mysore, often referred to as the 'Cultural Capital of Karnataka', is during the cooler and more pleasant months from October to February. During these months, the weather is generally mild and comfortable, which is perfect for sightseeing and exploring the rich heritage of the city. The average temperature hovers around 15°C to 30°C, creating an ideal scenario for tourists to enjoy the grandeur of Mysore Palace, the serene beauty of Brindavan Gardens, and the bustling markets of Devaraja Urs Road without the discomfort of extreme heat. Additionally, this period includes the famous Dussehra festival, usually celebrated in October, when Mysore showcases its vibrant culture with processions, traditional dance performances, and a grand display of the city's royal legacy.

For visitors interested in experiencing Mysore's natural beauty, the months after the monsoon season, particularly November to January, are highly recommended. During these months, the region's fauna is in full bloom, and the city's gardens and parks, such as the historic Lalitha Mahal and Kukkarahalli Lake, are especially picturesque. The climate stays pleasantly cool, which is also conducive to visiting the Chamundi Hills and enjoying panoramic views of the city. Moreover, the lesser-known but equally fascinating Mysore Winter Festival, which takes place in December, features flower shows, food festivals, and cultural programs, adding to the appeal of visiting this royal city during winter.
