Best Time To Visit Parmarth Niketan Ashram (Rishikesh) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh

The ideal time to visit Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh is during the cooler months from early October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasant with moderate temperatures, suitable for exploring and participating in the various spiritual activities the Ashram has to offer. Rishikesh experiences a subtropical climate; hence the winter season provides a reprieve from the scorching summer heat. One of the highlights of visiting during this time is the opportunity to attend the famous Ganga Aarti, a spiritual ritual performed at the ghats in the evening, in a much more comfortable climate. For those interested in Yoga, Rishikesh also hosts the International Yoga Festival in the first week of March, making it a vibrant time for enthusiasts to engage with fellow yogis from around the world.

Another aspect to consider is the monsoon season, which typically spans from July to September. During this time, the area receives heavy rainfall, which can cause inconveniences like travel disruptions and hinder outdoor activities that the Ashram facilitates. As such, it is generally recommended to avoid the monsoon period. For those who seek to immerse themselves in the local culture and spirituality with fewer crowds, the shoulder months of October and March can be ideal. Festivals such as Navratri, in late September or early October, and Shivaratri, typically in February or March, provide unique opportunities to witness special celebrations and rituals at Parmarth Niketan Ashram.
