The gurudwara is dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, and is nestled amidst seven towering peaks, each adorned by a Nishan Sahib on its cliff. It is accessible by foot from Ghangaria after trekking about 6 kilometers. However, to cater to pilgrims unable or unwilling to undertake the strenuous trek, the helipad provides an alternative to visit this holy site. The helicopter service operates from Govindghat, offering a quick and less exhausting way to reach Hemkund Sahib. This service becomes a crucial lifeline for many pilgrims, especially the elderly and infirm. The serene and majestic beauty surrounding the helipad, with panoramic views of Himalayan ranges and verdant landscapes, is an experience in itself.
