Ghangaria village, a small settlement located in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand, serves as the last human habitation center on the trek to Hemkunt Sahib and the Valley of Flowers National Park. Positioned at an altitude of approximately 3,050 meters (10,010 feet) above sea level, Ghangaria is accessible only via a trek from Govindghat on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. The trek is roughly 13 kilometers and takes hikers through breathtaking landscapes replete with waterfalls, natural bridges, and lush greenery. During the trekking season, the village comes to life with Sikh pilgrims and adventure enthusiasts. Accommodation ranging from tents to guesthouses becomes available. Ghangaria remains open to visitors only between May and October, as the region gets covered in snow the rest of the year, making it inaccessible.
