The Nainital Ropeway, also known as the Cable Car Ride, is a popular attraction in Nainital, a hill station in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, India. It connects the town with the snow viewpoint near the peak of Sher-ka-Danda hill. The ropeway offers breathtaking views of the Nainital lake, also called Naini Lake, and the panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains. Operated by Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN), this aerial tramway has two trolleys that ply up and down the hill. Each trolley can accommodate up to 11 people, and the journey covers a distance of around 705 meters, offering tourists an exhilarating experience. The ride to the top takes around 2.8 minutes and provides an opportunity for visitors to capture the scenic beauty of the region in their cameras and memories. At the top station, there's a viewing platform and a small garden where people can relax and enjoy the view before heading back down.
