Must go for Architecture enthusiasts.
It's an architectural marvel of colonial times. There are two super thick wooden pillars on each side of staircases inside the building and a trident shaped tree in the campus. Believe me it is worth visiting this place for both the above mentioned things. Entry price is Rs. 50 and last entry is at 15:00 pm. One can reach there by taxi, bike or walking.

Must visit place
We were unsure when we went if we could enter to see the raj bhavan. But there are guided tour by the hour for just 50 rupees pp. the tour takes us inside the estate and we can see the majestic building which is a mini replica of Buckingham palace. The entry is restricted inside the building but still u get to know the history and can peek into some of the rooms. As per guide it has more than 40 furnished guest rooms and governor of Uttarakhand functions from here for 2 summer months when visitors aren’t allowed. No pre booking needed. It is surely worth visiting if in the area

Unique Castle like Structure on A Flattened Mountain Top
This is the Second Raj Bhavan or Summer Retreat of the Governor or Rajpal of Uttarakhand state. Built about 120 years back, it used to be the summer capital of United Provinces during pre-independence era. Based on Gothic structure and built in European style, this building is in the surrounded by well manicured gardens and lush green forests. There is a golf course but not open to public. The Raj Bhavan is believed to have about 122 rooms except a few front rooms, visitors are not allowed. These few rooms had been opened to public about 30 years back through a guided tour and the entrance fee is nominal, about 50 rupees. However, it is a must visit place in Nainital just to see the imposing structure that looks like a Scottish castle and also to enjoy the scenic beauty of gardens and old pine and deodar trees. The guide pointed to us a strange tree with two branches sprouting near the base in Trishul shape, which is supposed to be rare. Parking is available and rest rooms or toilets are near the parking area .

A PROPERTY WORTH VISITING
A beautifully maintained property which can be visited by buying a ticket. Although the property can be seen fully from outside, however , entry is restricted to certain areas inside for obvious reasons. It is worth a visit.

Worth a visit
This is the official summer residence of Governer of Uttarakhand. This place is closed when the governer or other dignitaries are staying. The place can be visited at a nominal entry fee. The guided tour is restricted to the main entry and the hall, the balance places are out of bound. One can click a few photos after the tour and return. The complete tour is just for 15-20 minutes. The property is worth seeing. Visitors are not let in separately. All visitors are allowed to go inside in a group under a guide. The guided tour for us started at 11 am and its better to reach 15 min prior. Worth a visit for clicking beautiful pictures.
