The Parsvanath Temple is one of the exquisite Jain temples that forms part of the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in India. Located in Khajuraho, within the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, it is the largest Jain temple in the area. The temple's construction dates back to the mid-10th century AD and it is dedicated to Lord Parsvanath, the 23rd Tirthankara of Jainism. The temple is renowned for its stunning architecture and intricate sculptures that adorn its walls, showcasing the artistic zenith of the Chandela dynasty. The sculpture work includes detailed carvings of everyday life, mythical beings, and refined celestial maidens (Apsaras) showcasing the skilled craftsmanship of the era. Despite being a Jain temple, it features Hindu deities as well, making it an embodiment of the cultural confluence that is characteristic of Khajuraho. It's elegantly designed with a series of progressively smaller shikharas, culminating in a lofty central tower.
