The Varaha Temple in Khajuraho is one of the ancient temples in the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Madhya Pradesh, India. It is dedicated to Lord Varaha, the boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This small and exquisite temple stands on a high platform and is famous for its sandstone idol of Varaha, adorned with numerous carvings of gods on its body. Built around 900 A.D. during the Chandela dynasty, Varaha Temple is a symbol of architectural brilliance. Unlike most other temples in Khajuraho, it is devoid of erotic sculptures and focuses on the emblematic representation of Vishnu's incarnation. The temple faces towards the east and is surrounded by beautifully maintained lawns. Inside, the atmosphere is serene, and visitors can observe the intricacy of the carvings in a calm environment. The Varaha Temple, with its simple yet powerful design, reflects the architectural sophistication and spiritual significance that typify the rich cultural heritage of Khajuraho.
