Best Time To Visit Phantom Rock (Wayanad) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Phantom Rock, Wayanad

The ideal time to visit Phantom Rock in Wayanad, Kerala, is during the post-monsoon months and the winter season, which spans from October to March. During these months, the weather is most favorable for sightseeing and outdoor activities, as the temperature remains cool and comfortable. The post-monsoon period brings out the lush greenery of the surrounding landscapes, making it a photographer's delight. Additionally, the skies are generally clear, offering uninterrupted views of the unique skull-shaped rock formation, which is the highlight of this destination. With cooler temperatures, visitors can enjoy trekking to the rock and exploring the area without the discomfort of excessive heat or the unpredictability of monsoon rains.

It is advised to avoid the summer months of April to June, as the heat can become quite intense, making outdoor excursions less pleasant. Similarly, the monsoon season from July to September brings heavy rainfall to Wayanad, which while enhancing the region's beauty, can create challenges for travel and outdoor activities, potentially leading to slippery trails and restricted access to Phantom Rock. Regardless of the season, visitors should always check the local weather forecast and be prepared for any sudden changes in weather while planning their visit to this enchanting attraction in Kerala.
