Best Time To Visit Van Vihar National Park Bhopal (Bhopal) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India

The optimal period to visit Van Vihar National Park is during the cooler months of October to March. During this time, the weather in Bhopal is pleasantly mild, making wildlife sighting excursions not only comfortable but also more rewarding. The temperatures range from a pleasant 10 degrees Celsius to a moderate 25 degrees Celsius. This is the season when migratory birds are also present in the park, providing an added delight for bird watchers. The park remains open throughout the year, but the monsoon season from July to September can be quite heavy, possibly making safaris less enjoyable due to waterlogged roads and limited visibility.

Summers, from April to June, can be exceedingly hot in Bhopal with temperatures soaring up to 40 degrees Celsius, which might not be ideal for most visitors. Consequently, wildlife tends to be less active and sightseeing can be somewhat challenging due to the extreme heat. Despite that, early morning safaris during summer months could still offer a chance to see the animals, as they are more likely to come out to waterholes to cool off. However, for the best experience, the milder winter months with their pleasant climate offer the most conducive conditions for exploring the rich flora and fauna of Van Vihar National Park.
