Visiting Kankaria Lake, one of the most prominent attractions in Ahmedabad, is best enjoyed during the cooler months of the year, from November to February. During this period, the climate is pleasantly mild with average temperatures ranging from a high of 29°C to a low of 12°C. This is the ideal time for tourists to indulge in outdoor activities around the lake like the famous Kankaria Carnival held in the last week of December. The carnival is a week-long festival that sees a surge in visitors who come to enjoy the myriad of cultural, art, and entertainment events, alongside awe-inspiring fireworks.
While visiting in the monsoon season, between July and September, can also be an option, the weather can be unpredictable with frequent showers that might hinder your outdoor exploration. However, just after the rains, the surroundings are lush and green, presenting a beautiful environment. Summers in Ahmedabad, from March to June, are extremely hot with temperatures soaring up to 45°C, and it is generally advised to avoid outdoor activities like walking around the vast Kankaria Lake during the daytime in these months. Thus, early mornings or evenings are preferable for such visits in the warmer seasons.
