Best Time To Visit Shilpgram (Udaipur) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Shilpgram in Udaipur

Shilpgram, Udaipur's crafts village, is an ethnographic museum that celebrates the cultural diversity of the western states of India, primarily Rajasthan. The best time to visit Shilpgram is generally during the cooler months of the year, from October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasantly cool, making it ideal for walking around the outdoor area and exploring the traditional huts, artisan displays, and performances comfortably. The temperature ranges between 10°C to 25°C, which is perfect for tourists to indulge in the cultural activities and open-air exhibitions without the discomfort of the scorching heat that Rajasthan experiences during the summer season.

Moreover, Shilpgram hosts an annual crafts fair, known as the Shilpgram Utsav, usually in the last week of December, which is a highlight for visitors. This festival features folk dances, music, art, craft workshops, and various cultural performances that showcase the rich traditions of Rajasthan. Therefore, planning a visit to coincide with the Shilpgram Utsav can provide a vibrant and enriching experience, particularly for those interested in arts and crafts. However, it's worth noting that this time can also draw larger crowds and might require advanced planning for accommodation and tickets to the festival events.
