Best Time to Visit Western Group of Temples, Khajuraho

The Western Group of Temples in Khajuraho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Madhya Pradesh, India, is an architectural marvel of medieval times. The best time to visit the Western Group of Temples is during the winter months, from October to February. During this period, the weather in Khajuraho is pleasantly cool with temperatures ranging between 5°C and 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the intricate carvings and architecture of the temples without the discomfort of intense heat. The clear skies and minimal rainfall during these months enhance the visiting experience, ensuring that travelers can spend ample time admiring the aesthetic and historical aspects of the site.

Another enchanting time to visit the temples is during the Khajuraho Dance Festival which usually takes place annually in the month of February. The week-long classical dance festival celebrates the Indian classical dance forms against the backdrop of the illuminated temples, adding splendor to the ambience. Visiting during the festival gives tourists a unique opportunity to experience cultural performances in a dramatic setting. However, it is worth noting that this period may also be crowded with tourists and art enthusiasts from around the world, and accommodation may need to be booked well in advance. Travelers may also find this time particularly vibrant for photography due to the special lighting and cultural activities surrounding the event.
