Kutch Museum, originally known as the Fergusson Museum, is the oldest museum of Gujarat, located in Bhuj, Kutch, India. Founded by Maharao Khengarji III in 1877, this museum was established to commemorate the wedding of the then Prince of Wales, Edward VII. The museum's Italian Gothic architecture is a blend of European influence and local craftsmanship. Its collection is significant, consisting of various artifacts that showcase the history and culture of the Kutch region. The exhibits include a rich collection of Kutchi script inscriptions, various archaeological findings, fine examples of the local Kutchi embroidery, ancient coins, musical instruments, sculpture, and a section devoted to tribal cultures. The Kutch Museum also has an impressive collection of arms and specimens of various crafts of the Kutch region. The museum provides deep insights into the ancient civilization and the social, cultural and historical fabric of this part of Gujarat.
