Roha Fort, often referred to as Roha Sumari, is located near the village of Sumari in Kutch, Gujarat, India. Perched atop a hill, it is one of the 52 forts in the Kutch region, and offers panoramic views of the surrounding desert landscape. The fort, predominantly in ruins now, showcases the remnants of royal grandeur and architectural brilliance from medieval times. It is believed that Roha Fort was built by Thakore Noganji in the 16th century and was known for being impregnable. Despite its decayed state, visitors can still observe the detailed stone carvings, fort walls, step wells, and various gateways. The place is not only a testament to the history and past battles but also offers an insight into the strategical importance of such forts in the Kutch region.
