Siyot Caves, also known as Kateshwar Buddhist Caves, lie in the Lakpat taluka of the Kutch district in Gujarat, India. These are a cluster of ancient caves believed to be carved by early Buddhists from 1st to the 4th century CE, as they are on an ancient trade route linking Kutch to Sind. The main cave features an east-facing sanctum with an ambulatory. The presence of Brahmi script engravings suggests the caves' linkage to the Mauryan era. The architecture resembles the early cave temples found in western India. The caves represent a significant historical and archaeological site, providing insight into ancient Buddhist monk communities and their spiritual practices. Situated on the limestone foothills of the Kutch desert, the Siyot Caves are a blend of history, spirituality, and natural beauty and are part of the itinerary for those interested in ancient civilisations and religions.

Nestled in the remote part of Kutch district this is a very small place and isolated from any villages nearby. We visited this place while travelling to Lakhpat from Mata nu madh.
