Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib is a revered Sikh house of worship situated in the heart of Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi, India. This historic gurdwara commemorates the site where the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, was beheaded by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1675 for refusing to convert to Islam. Established in 1783, the current Gurdwara structure is a symbol of the Sikh religion's history and resilience. It features a large prayer hall, the sanctum where the Guru Granth Sahib is placed, and the historic trunk of the tree under which Guru Tegh Bahadur was executed. Devotees from all walks of life visit to offer prayers and find spiritual solace. The Gurdwara also provides Langar, a community kitchen serving free meals to all visitors. It is a place of great religious importance for Sikhs and a symbol of the fight against religious oppression.
Visited with my friends. Being a Delhiites I should have visited it very early or very often, but I confess I visited there first time. Saw the place where Guru Teg Bahadur was beheaded by Aurangzeb..
It's nice that anyone can enter as long as you cover your head .
