National Rail Museum, located in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, is a fascinating venue that showcases the rich railway heritage of India. Spread over 11 acres, this museum was inaugurated on February 1, 1977, and is designed to simulate the atmosphere of a railway setting. With both indoor and outdoor exhibits, it features a vast collection of over 100 real-size exhibits of Indian Railways. Static and working models, signaling equipment, historical photographs, antique furniture, and related literature are on display to narrate the rail story. The most attractive feature for visitors is the toy train ride, which offers a tour of the entire museum on wheels. A recent addition is a state-of-the-art simulator that provides a virtual experience of driving a train. Other highlights are the Fairy Queen, the oldest working steam locomotive, and the Prince of Wales Saloon, built in 1875. The Rail Museum presents an engaging panorama of the technological, historical, and cultural aspects of the railways, making it a place of interest for all age groups.

Such a shame no one can be bothered to maintain the history
Well, given it’s so cheap at least you could argue that it’s value for money… there’s a tiny little train that goes round for about 5 minutes, you’re not allowed to look in any of the locomo..
